Две белые полоски на башне — тактический знак 67-го танкового полка 34-ой танковой дивизии 8-го механизированного корпуса Юго-Западного фронта. Машина выпуска 1937 года, серийный номер №988-16. Выписка из акта списания: «№988-16 – подбит и сгорел во время атаки в с. Птичье 30 июня».

Kiev, Ukraine, Aug 16, 1944: Thousands of German POWs are paraded through city streets as the locals hurl curse and abuse at them. The official report about the Kiev situation to Stalin claimed the Red Army had taken 36,918 POWs including 549 officers.

A battered German officer sits on the pavement during the Prague Uprising. The uprising was an attempt by the Czech Resistance to liberate the city of Prague from German occupation. Events began on 5 May 1945 when armed Czech resistance fighters overwhelmed the Waffen-SS defending the radio buildings. The radio announcer then broadcast a call to the Czechs to rise up and asked the people in the streets of Prague to build begin building barricades and actively resist. Elsewhere, Czech Resistance fighters occupied the Gestapo and Security Police (Sicherheitspolizei, or SiPo) Headquarters. The uprising continued until 8 May 1945, ending in a German victory and ceasefire. A day after the Germans quelled the uprising, they surrendered themselves when the Soviet Army arrived in the city on 9 May 1945. Prague, Czechoslovakia (now, Czech Republic). 5 May 1945.
